TL;DR
Touching a mouse or tablet inside the sterile field is an infection vector. A robust voice interface (that understands accents, medical terms, and voices muffled by a mask) returns the surgeon's hands to the patient — and logs everything in the medical record without a finger, without an assistant searching for the file. It is already a reality in top surgical centers.
Sterility is sacred. Every time a surgeon leaves the sterile field to use a mouse and view an MRI, they must change gloves or ask an assistant (who often does not know how to operate the system).
The risk of cross-infection increases with every touch on a peripheral. And the wasted time is costly — every minute of surgery runs into thousands of reais.

⚠️ Non-negotiable requirements for surgery
Voice in the operating room is not Siri: (1) recognition >98% with an N95 mask and aspirator running; (2) short wake word + critical voice confirmation before any clinical action (dose, record, call); (3) fallback via pedal/hand-switch if audio fails; (4) legal framework LGPD + RDC 302/302-A ANVISA + medical technical responsible for the system. Without this, it does not go into the OR.
